I've been up over an hour now and nothing of concern has arisen as of yet.

Hidey-ho! I'm working from home for a few days - across the street at work, they have jackhammers going all day doing some demolition - it gets old real fast. Much quieter here, and the commute is uneventful.

Have a good day, all!

Could I make it to hour 2?

NO!

Skid steer belt broke, mid size chain saw won't start. You would think I would get used to this.

NO!

I will NEVER get used to distractions that drag me in.

What I ask is simple. LMTFA. (leave me the f@(% alone) I know that's not gonna happen.

Seeya. I have work on top of my work I have to do.

Probably the same thing I am....
try to get one thing done that requires some measuring and concentration and people keep walking in asking me "is this the bathroom? Oh sorry!" Well fk no, does it LOOK like a bathroom? I'd love to say that instead of the smiling "it's the next door". I have a sign up that says "bathroom 2nd door on right". I'm moving my office.
Storms due in here today they say strong winds and large hail. Our weatherman even tagged a slew of peeps on FB saying something like "you know something is up with the weather when all your storm tracker friends are in town..."
Was hoping for a quiet day today, 3 hours sleep and no coffee isn't gonna make me be able to play nice with people.

Warm here in the upper 50s. They are saying we should get some rain. It sprinkled earlier and it's pretty cloudy, so we might expect more. They said on the radio this morning that Chicago set a record - for the first time in a hundred and fifty years of recording there is no measurable snowfall in January and February. Pretty wild.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Letty, I have had a sign for years on my office or cube that says "Read Manual Before Entering", but nobody ever does. Meanwhile, storm mojo.

Marcus, a nap is on the agenda - the countdown is on.

On my way home from helping Sue I got a call that there was a fire in the neighborhood. I didn't know where in the neighborhood. I got home and the fire was behind my BIL, Alberts, 2 lots down. Turned on the sprinklers out back, set up a ladder and got on the roof to wet everything down. Ashes were dropping around the house. The property caddy corner to me lost a wooden fence and Tiki hut to the fire. The rest was primarily woodland. Certainly suspicious in nature. My house and my neighbor's beside me's houses are all fine. Never a dull day. We now continue with our regularly scheduled program.

Newsbreak!!!

Quote:

Howdy Nancy, et all,

Fire presence still ongoing. I spoke with the Battalion Chief, and too their Arson Investigators-yes they confirmed once again, arson/dumping of trash, then lighting it to "hide" their dumping. The investigator feels he knows who dumped and subsequently lit the mess. Personally I have a hard time believing who they know (their words) suspect of this mess.

Tessy (the property right behind yours Nancy) suffered damage....loss of her Tiki, electrical to the house destroyed, partial fence and trees on the east side, loss of cable and sprinkler system. Thankfully no structural damage to her house.

The street until an hour ago was blocked off with crime tape, and as,such none where allowed in until then. Hopefully unlike years past, they will knock all burning embers down and out!

That's about all I can add from my end. I know I'll be keeping an eye out for the next few days, as in times past, old embers have re-ignited brush fires before. With a high pressure to the northeast, chances are the winds may stay up, and from the east.

Any changes will update.

Hey guys...got up early, got around and picked up our priest and another guy and headed east for the funeral of our priest from about 17 years ago. He had been here for 10 years and retired at 75, passed away last Friday at 92. It was a nice a service. Not surprising though, not a lot of people were there. When you are 92 (actually almost 93) most of your friends are gone already or can't make it to such an event.

The weather wasn't too bad. A little chilly up on the hill at the cemetery. Saw a lot of people there I hadn't seen in a long time. Many brother knights (Knights of Columbus) that I used to see on a fairly regular basis when I was much more active in the fraternal organization.

By the time we got home the north wind was blowing and turning cold. By 6 pm we had snow flakes coming down.
