Another sunshiny start to a new day. Cool for Florida in July but I'm sure not for long. I'll be poring sweat before I know it. My birthday is Saturday and wifey asked me what I wanted. Wish I had an answer. I don't need anything. Of course I need some work done on the 78 928 but that's hardly a b-day gift. Guess I could ask for the $2500 I need to get it done. Got rained out yesterday afternoon and took a nice snooze to the sounds of afternoon rain. I'm gonna get out and get busy early and try to get a few things done before the rain returns. Tonight is game night so a light house cleaning, dinner prep and other associated tasks are on the docket as well. Make it a good day. If you don't do it nobody will.

Howdy! The weather is shaping up nicely, looks like it'll be warming up over the next several days, and no rain in sight for a change. Had a nice evening for golf last night, and for the All-Star game as well.

Good Morning CGs!

Well I had a miserable day of painting the ceiling yesterday. A solid 7-8 hours total work and put 2 1/2 gallons of kilz ceiling paint on. Guess what? I get to roll another coat today. I already went to HD and got two more gallons. The ceiling hasn't been painted in 12 years and it was just soaking that paint up like nothing. Did I mention I hate painting ceilings?

Beautiful weather here today.. have been secretly looking to book myself a cheap cruise, found one for under $600 - now it's $300 more - if I had more cash in the bank last week I could've booked it but since the paper didn't pay me when they should have I was unable to do so. Now I've missed out. But of course they want their shit done by a deadline. I have a strict budget if I do something like that and adding another $300 to it don't sound like much but it takes my 'fun money' away so messed up everything.
Slow day at the office it's looking like so that will make for a long day. The tekkie says the drive is shot so all the print files are gone. I have my layered photoshop files but the printer ones are done. Funny how before he said that I could not open a file from that drive, but I could import one into different software then export it and still manage to get my file I needed. ??? Any pro opinion on this? I had a photoshop file on there, couldn't open it in photoshop but I could import it into Flexi and then export to .psd or .pdf and then save to my jump drive and bring it to my computer and retrieve it. I told him put the drive back in and there's some things I might try to recover anyway. He thinks it wont' work. It did before...???
Oh well, I'll replace what I do know that we make regular prints of such as our trucking company client decals and such.

Normal day at work so far. Only news this week was that I found out that I may not have a job here at the end of the year. So it makes this week a little stressfull but we'll get through it. Time to start job hunting before it's to late.

Well the painting is done. All day yesterday and most of today. Ceilings are the worst. This one is even worse due to the size. Over 600 sq feet to paint. I had to roll two coats since the ceiling hasn't been painted in 12 years since the house was built. It was dry and sucked that paint up like a sponge. Wife went to get me some Chinese food as a peace offering since I told her I didn't want to do this job. My whole body hurts. Time to go eat...

Got over to help dad with some things. Got some details for the funeral tied down, gathered some info about her life insurance and other financial stuff. Then we headed on down the road. Rosie's sister called about an hour ago to say that mom had passed. Dad, sister, BIL and his wife were all there. Rosie cried the rest of the way on to KC. We are really relieved,but still sad. We will go back home in the morning. They are trying to set the funeral up for Friday....Saturday if Friday doesn't work.

Yea, how would you like to be retired and a car freek with a shop like this? It's 3 bays wide and 3 car lengths deep but the booth is in there too.

And remember the music studio is on the back end of the booth along with the horse tack room.

He also has a 3 car but Shirley's 2 cars take up 2/3rds.

Poor guy only has room for his '31 Packard in there.

Thanks guys. As was said before it truly was a blessing that she finally passed. Couldn't get things done for Friday, so it will be Saturday morning. All of her brothers, her sister their spouses and most all grands will be home.
