Good morning gang.

It's cool and rainy here. Should be that way most of the day with the temps falling throughout the day.

I'm off work today and have vacation until next month. Looking forward to having the two weeks off.

Everybody knows that the main reason for living is to see how much stuff you can accumulate. Right? He with the most stuff wins. Having problems and money is better than having problems and no money. Having worked my ass off my whole life the story above (post 2) hits a chord. In the end ...... What's important. I've actually done many of the items stated in the 5 regrets. I have stayed in touch with life long friends. I still communicate with my first friend. He and I grew up together a couple of houses away. I've known him since I was 4. Believe it or not I still remember meeting him for the first time when I moved into the house my family grew up in. Two other close friends of mine I met when I was 12 and 15. We shared many teen experiences together. I was like a 6th son in one family and the other guy and I trotted off to basic training together through "The Buddy Program". I have pictures of them in my photo albums. They are a direct connection with my past. My ex in-laws are still good friends of ours (both me and Sue). They call us their son in law and daughter in law. Habits are hard to break. I still bust my ass. Why? Because I don't know how not to. Even when I was drinking I was a hard worker. Being focused on stuff helps me to avoid thinking about things I don't want to think about. Ever thought about something that nobody else has ever thought about? ..... Think about it.

!Gau-e kke kan gu we

Where were you on this day in 1963? I was in the 3rd grade, went off to school that morning, not realizing it would turn out to be a day I'd never forget. I still have the newspaper from that day. And 30 years ago today, I happened to be in Dallas for the 20th anniversary of JFK's assassination. They were still working on the 6th floor museum, so it wasn't open to the public.

Since Mad Dog Vachon passed away yesterday, they were reminiscing about the old wrestlers on the radio this morning. They dug up the Crusher's old song:

Time passes quickly - make the most of it, Gurus!

Good article, Tommy. I'm guilty of a number of items on that list, but also have kept in touch with many old friends from school and previous jobs.

1963? I too was in third grade. They put it on the school monitors. Everybody was in shock and silent. What did it all mean? There was an eerie silence on the streets and the look on everybody's face was disbelief. It was almost like a "Where do we go from here? kind of look. Scary when you think about it. Like The Day The Earth Stood Still.

Good Morning CGs!

I have to drop RR#1 off at school and then off the the Audi dealer for an oil change. After that I'm seeing the bone crusher and then back home. Hopefully get a good workout in later.

Weather is changing from cold to cold and nasty here. Winter is upon us.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I remember climbing to 14,000 feet on a mountain with our karate club.

Close to the top, there was a stream. Our Sensei made us work out and fight in the stream. Really cold.

It would have been a big regret if I knew about it and didn't partake.

I was in 4th grade. They didn't tell us anything until final dismissal. Made an announcement over the PA system. When Oswald was shot, we were just sitting down to Sunday lunch.

Morning.....I was in the 8th grade in Mr. Schonings Govt. class when the principle announced it over the intercom. It was our generations Peal Harbor or the next gen's 911...

Got going early with the phone ringing and had a bunch to do. The temps this morning was 12 degrees with a skiff of snow laying out on the deck and drive. Supposed to be in the 40's next week though and sunny.

Back to it, have a safe day Guru's......

It's a cool, gloomy, rainy day here in SoFlo. I haven't done squat except load two trees at 09:00. Trying o get going now at 12:30. Gonna take my morning shower in the early afternoon. If that's any indication of how my day is shaping up, looks like it's it's going to be a DNBS Friday.
Might take a nap. That's doing something. Isn't it?

Morning guys...I, too was in 3rd grade, Mrs Cornellsen's class when we heard the news. I don't remember many of my grade school teachers names, but I vividly remember her announcing what had happened.

Got pulled away for a while.

The writ of possession was served last night at my other house giving my son a 24 hour notice to clear the premises. Guess when my wife wants to show up? You guessed it. At 06:48 tonight. My blood pressure just shot through the roof. So much for having a do nothing day. Now I have to get ready for this fracus. (Insert a string of vulgarities here)

Update.

There are only three two man teams in the county that enforce eviction. There is a backlog of cases and it could take up to a month to enforce the 24 hour notice. We have to call back Monday and see when we are scheduled. They will call us when it's a go. We have done the final step. All that's left is the physical removal. Then the game will be over. Luckily, this is the kind of thing you only have to go through once in a lifetime. Though a standard eviction is quite an annoyance too. Never had to do one with any of our tenants. I hate stress.

Mojo, Tommy.

I've been watching the stream from cbsnews.com of their coverage from Nov. 22, 1963 - it's being shown just as it was broadcast that day.

Busy day. I had a kid here 22 or 23 years old, who is doing observations in classrooms as he is becoming a teacher. This is the kid who wants to do his student teaching here next year. So along with my trying to be with students I'm entertaining this kid.

After school, the basketball coach had an "open practice" so I decided to go watch. Very interesting coaching approach. I think he will do well with these kids.

Came home and relaxing.

1963? Wasn't here yet...
I imagine I'll be one of those in the nursing home with some of those 5 regrets, possibly more - we always wish we had done things we didn't or the other way around...
too early to start a Sat thread yet, not sure why I'm up at this hour anyway - already started some laundry - I must be nuts... worked at the hunting/truck accessory store till noon, then out at the body shop till 5 - he's tearing down an '03 bad front hit - I spy me a supercharger if they total that thing (I wish)
ElCamino assembly today - I put the mirrors on it but not sure where the pass wires go through... thinking I'll find something else to do
