Good Morning CGs!
Took the kids to a "flashlight" Easter egg hunt yesterday at the rec center. I can't say that I like the way it's set up. They have some plastic fencing set up in a 50x50 or smaller square and they dump the eggs all over. Then the greedy kids run in pushing each other all over and grabbing them off the ground. The parents are just as bad as the kids...over a plastic egg with a piece of candy inside. It's pretty sick to watch. RR#2 might have gotten 6 eggs in his basket because he is too slow and the older kids (and parents) would snatch them from right in front of you. Even though there were age groups, it didn't really matter. Came home and noticed the garage was smelling like sulfur. Didn't know why. About an hour later it dawned on me to check the battery in the vette. When I worked on it the other day, the float charger had taken a crap and ended up draining the battery almost completely to about 2.5 volts. I hooked up the 2 amp slow charger and it's been on there for a day or two. Sure enough, go over there and the battery is hot and so it the charger. Pull it off, battery voltage 9.5. So looks like a new battery is in order. Damn it. This one isn't that old...maybe 5 years at the most. I'll take it to the interstate dealer and see if there is any prorated warranty. Geez Matt you gotta get your kids into Tea Kwan Do so they can kick some ass on those other kids that want to steal their eggs. And when their parents step in to stop them then you come over and give them one of these.....
My two girls and I took classes and participated in the State Games where we won some nice medals. We only got up to green or blue belts but to this day the girls can kick you hard and fast. I had to quit when I had my nose broke by a 12 year old girl and my knee tore up by another youngster......I said...I'm too old for this shit.....lol. Yukky dreary day here in Nebraska and its supposed to snow more so not car fun or any other fun it looks like...guess I will work some since I can't have fun anyway..... Try to enjoy your day Guru's......think of warm places... |

Morning guys....cold, damp and dreary here. Not much planned. Maybe work a little out in the shop. Then later we have Prom tonight....yes, it is early this year. They are trying to see if having it early helps with not interfering with all the other activities in the spring. The only thing that's interfering is the weather. Ought to be fun to see all the kids wading through snow in their formal attire.

Matt, that pretty much describes the parents everywhere....entitlement. I always have/had to really encourage my girls, and now my grandsons, to be more aggressive just to get a few.

Marcus....I did martial arts for ten years throughout middle school/high school/college and competed at all levels including national tournament. I hated competing but my school required it. If my kids do it I will encourage them but not force them.

The thing I hated about sparring was people were trying to knock you out.....I have to be mad or drunk to want to knock someone out........and since I don't drink and am easy going.....I don't fight much.... I wanted the kids to have some basics on self defense and the disciplines they learned did not hurt them either. Now I am sorry to say that has moved up to firearm training and packing heat. We are headed in the wrong direction but being prepared is something to always consider. I too have taken the kids to things like you did and have been appalled by the rudeness of both kids and parents and soon we quit going to those affairs. Our various churches would sometimes have something like that and they were a bit better. |

Haven't been here for a while The 383 stroker is running great thanks Dave The Parts and advice on the Clutch master cylinder are working great. The throw out master cylinder is working flawlessly. Getting 33 mph on the hwy. And the sucker reallys flys.
The only problem is my stupid dog was licking the raido and climet control and he blew a fuse. He loves the sounds and tries to fix them for me. He and I have been busy shooting in trap competions.I recently had some eye problems and they are getting better had problems in trap competions with it. Improving.Found a guy to buy parts for my Mec 8756 grabber on a Trap site and just like here I got great advice. There is a Dave there that rebuilds stuff also. Haven found any Andys there yet. So, I was glass beading some heater control cables and the piece-o-crap shopvac under the cabinet blew a gasket.
Of course you don't realize it's blown until you stop blasting and look at the floor. Cleanup on isle 3. And spent 2 1/2 hours pulling the headlight buckets off to reverse a gasket that i had in backwards.  Next time, I'll pay attention to my morning posts. (#13). |

Back from prom. GS looked pretty good and despite all his co planning about being a prom server, he really enjoyed himself. We didn't stick around too long. Came home as the daughter from KC doesn't come home too often.
