Talk about scary for the driver! What was the problem with the head restraint?

If you mean the HANS, no problem. If you mean the carbon fiber surround, it looks like the wreck may have jammed the right side release. It depends on the car but most are held on with 2 PIP pins, one on each side, in front of the driver's shoulder. If the surround is a one piece, both pins have to come out to remove it.

That being said, the problem was with her lower legs and feet. If you bend your knees while they are pulling on you, they will hit the upper frame cross rail and it's easy to catch your driving shoes on the bead seat and frame.
The width between the frame uprights under the dash (if they had one) is about 14 inches max.

Surprising that the one guy couldn't get his extinguisher working, pretty sloppy.

Yea, well comments/opinions are free.
Those guys really don't know anything about these cars though.

It's still the guy with the extinguisher that's a dork. He should have had the pin pulled before he got to the car.
I've been thru 3 fireschools for racecars and know that our guys are far more competent than Tony's boys.
