Back in Jan 2022, I bought 4 new Bilstein shocks for my C6. I finally got around to installing them last month.
Surprise! The bottom mounting shaft was wrong. It was too short that the 2 holes did not align to the lower control arm! I reached out to the Tire Rack and they kicked ASS. My contact there, Jenn, reached out to Bilstein, and after a couple of emails and some pictures, validated a fitment issue. They refunded my original shocks and I ordered 2 new ones. They arrived about 10 days ago. Last Saturday, I opened them up and one was perfect, the other? IT WAS SHORT! Had the same exact problem my shocks had! And it appeared it was a returned shock. The washers, bushings and top bolt were all fitted to the shock shaft, vs being in the bag. I reached out to Jenn again... this time, she handled the replacement personally. She learned that the batch was the key, and a set of numbers stamped on the bottom of the shock. This afternoon, that final replacement arrived and it is right! LOVE IT! Yay! I cannot praise Tire Rack enough. They took care of me 18 months after purchase. This is a master class in customer support. I have been a lifelong customer, and that will never change. Later today, I will install... get as much done as my achy knee will let me...

Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports Press Conference Transcript Oicials met with members of the media Friday at Watkins Glen International to announce the Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports GTD PRO program for the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GT Daytona (GTD) PRO class: Christie Bagne, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R Program Manager Brandon Widmer, Vice President, Pratt Miller Motorsports Marc Maurini, Corvette Racing Program Director, Pratt Miller Motorsports Full transcript: C. Bagne: “We’re proud to announce that next year in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, we will be running two Corvette Z06 http://GT3.Rs" target="_blank">GT3.Rs in GTD PRO as Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports. We’re looking forward to working with the same team that has designed and built these GT3 cars, knows them intimately and will now be racing the cars in IMSA. We’re looking forward to this program benefitting our entire customer program as this team races these cars, learns about them and efficiently transfers those learnings into the customer race program in order to elevate the level of all Z06 http://GT3.Rs" target="_blank">GT3.Rs on the grid globally.” THIS IS NOT THE ONLY TEAM RUNNING CORVETTES NEXT YEAR? C. Bagne: “You can look forward to more team announcements next summer. We’re continuing to target four cars on the grid in IMSA at the Rolex 24 and throughout the season, as well as two cars in the FIA WEC and two Corvettes in SRO Motorsports America.” WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR PRATT MILLER MOTORSPORTS GOING FORWARD? CAN YOU GIVE A SENSE OF WHERE TESTING AND DEVELOPMENT FOR THE Z06 GT3.R IS RIGHT NOW?
LOOKING BACK A LITTLE BIT, HOW SPECIAL WAS THE WIN AT LE MANS? M. Maurini: “That was a pretty big effort by the entire team. I’m really proud of everyone at Chevrolet and Pratt Miller to be able to get the job done and get the victory with the C8.R and the ninth one for Corvette Racing. It was a year’s worth of effort to get there. The 2022 race didn’t end the way hoped, so to go back in 2023 and get the victory was a job well done by everyone involved.”B. Widmer: “I’ve been quite a few times at Le Mans, and we’ve had a lot of success there and a lot of ups and downs. This year, it felt like all those emotions were rolled into one race. We had a fantastic season leading up to Le Mans in leading the championship with two wins and a second-place. So we felt really confident going into the race. We showed great pace, but we also had some challenges. We had a crash a few minutes before the end of practice Wednesday. The team rallied and scrambled to get the car back together and we were able to get a few laps in during qualifying to get us into Hyperpole, then we went out and set the fastest lap time to start the race in first. We had a good race going for the first hour and 35 minutes but had to pull the car in the garage for some suspension repair. The guys did a phenomenal job, but we still lost around nine minutes so there was a lot of digging to do. Between the execution, the strategy, the driving in some challenging conditions from wet to dry. … It was quite an emotional one to overcome all that adversity and go out and win the 100th anniversary of the race with the C8.R. It was an amazing day for the team. It definitely ranks up there at the top as one of the greatest wins we’ve had.” C. Bagne: “This whole team worked together so well as they’ve done in the WEC to overcome that adversity. It was a well-deserved win for the team and important for the legacy of the C8.R program. The C5-R won at Le Mans, the C6.R won at Le Mans, the C7.R won at Le Mans and we fought so hard to for that win with the C8.R. Last year obviously was very challenging for the team, so it’s a testament to the strength of this team that every time you throw adversarial events at them, they just dig deeper. Everyone came together, rallied like Brandon said in the week leading up to the event and in the race. It definitely was an emotional win for all of us.”
GM AND PRATT MILLER HAVE BEEN INTERTWINED FOR 25 YEARS. CAN YOU CLARIFY THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS ARRANGEMENT AND A FULL FACTORY TEAM?
IS THERE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT TO MAKE PRATT MILLER MORE OF A HOUSEHOLD NAME OUTSIDE OF ITS CONNECTION TO GM?

Good afternoon, I'm at work today for some extra coins and there must have been a smoke signal that went up or it was on the news. My phone has blowed up today. I usually come in on Tuesdays and often don't even have any missed calls. I've had a ton today, and been busy but at least it's been quiet. Way better day than yesterday. Matt this has been a pricey month for us too, $1600 for a new termite contract yesterday, plus a few other assorted odds and ends. We sued the old company so had to find a new one. Hope yall have a good weekend

Good Afternoon CGs!
Well it's been an expensive month for me. I was driving last night and must have hit something on the road...popped the sidewall on the wife's tire. They were due for replacement with 43k on them but wasn't on my to do list. So $980 later we are back in business. Just in time for our road trip. I feel more comfortable at least with a long drive ahead of us. Mustang is coming along. Got the trans out a few days ago and everything pulled off. Did the rear main, pilot bearing, and flywheel last night. Might get the clutch installed tonight but I'll need a hand lining up the transmission input shaft to install it so that will have to wait until we're back. Hope everyone has a great day!

Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports Set for 2024 Debut New factory-supported program is first confirmed for new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R WATKINS GLEN, NY (June 23, 2023) – Chevrolet and Pratt Miller Motorsports officials announced today the formation of a program that will lead competition and development efforts with the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R – Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports. Starting with the 2024 Rolex 24 At Daytona, Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports will campaign a pair of the new-for-2024, GT3-spec Corvettes for a full season in the GT Daytona (GTD) PRO category of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The factory-supported effort is the first of two 2024 WeatherTech Championship programs that feature the Corvette Z06 GT3.R with additional customer programs set to announce in the coming weeks. Drivers for the GTD PRO effort will be announced at a later date, as well. The link-up between Chevrolet and Pratt Miller Motorsports (PMM) is a natural fit. The current full-factory Corvette Racing program is in the midst of its 25th season with 125 race victories to date, the most recent coming at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the team’s ninth class win at the famed French classic. Also for the second year in a row, Corvette Racing has programs in both IMSA and the FIA World Endurance Championship with the Corvette C8.R, now in its final season of competition. “Chevrolet and Pratt Miller have collaborated for more than 25 years on the Corvette Racing program, and we are thrilled that we are able to continue together into the GT3 era,” said Christie Bagne, Corvette Z06 GT3.R Program Manager. Corvette Z06 GT3.R customer teams will compete under the umbrella of Corvette Racing, which also will include customer and technical support to help carry on the tradition of Corvette Racing excellence that began in 1999. With an eye toward the future, Chevrolet Motorsports Competition Engineering and Pratt Miller began planning more than two years ago for the Corvette GT3 era. Pratt Miller – located in New Hudson, Michigan – is the constructor of the Z06 GT3.R. Pratt Miller engineers have worked hand-in-hand with Chevrolet Motorsports engineers on development, build and testing to date. With Pratt Miller dedicated to chassis builds and engineering on the Z06 GT3.R, GM Propulsion Performance and Racing Center in Pontiac, Michigan, also has been busy with development and refinements on the 5.5-liter, flat-plane crankshaft DOHC LT6 V8 engine that will power the racecar. The LT6 engine for the Z06 GT3.R originates from the Performance Build Center in Bowling Green, the same line on which all production Corvette Z06 engines are built. The racing engines are delivered to the Performance and Racing Center where they are fitted with certain race-specific components. The 5.5-liter powerplant shares more than 70 percent of its parts with the production Z06 engine, including the crankshaft, connecting rods, cylinder heads, fuel injectors, coils, gaskets and a variety of other sensors. “It makes sense to have Corvette Racing with Pratt Miller Motorsports lead the competition element of the Z06 GT3.R program in the GTD PRO championship starting in 2024,” Bagne said. “We couldn’t have a better representative than the same group that has been part of the development, build and testing processes for our new Corvette racecar. The learnings we will take from testing and competition will flow to our other Z06 GT3.R customer teams to ensure that the Corvette brand is a championship contender around the world.” Since September of last year, Corvette Racing and Pratt Miller have accumulated nearly 9,000 kilometers (5,500 miles) with the Corvette Z06 GT3.R. The car currently is undergoing its final homologation testing in Europe with additional testing planned for the summer and fall to fine-tune the Z06 GT3.R to multiple brands of tires for use across an array of championships around the world. “This is an exciting time for everyone at Pratt Miller,” said Brandon Widmer, Pratt Miller Vice President, Motorsports. “We’ve experienced a lot of successes, race wins and championships with Chevrolet through the Corvette Racing program. Now we move into the GT3 era. Everyone is pleased with the progress of our testing and development programs, and new car builds are under way. “We’re appreciative of the decades-long relationship with Chevrolet. Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports is looking forward to continue showing our expertise in race operations and management to our fans, our commercial partners and new prospects as we go forward.” Ryan Smith Judy Kouba Dominick ![]()

THE SUN IS SHINING AND IT'S 75 DEGREES THIS MORNING, 76% HUMIDITY, GONNA BE 91 AFTER NOON. IT'S SUMMER IN THE IN'DN NATIONS. NOTHING IN PARTICULAR ON THE AGENDA; THERE'S STUFF I NEED TO DO IN THE YARD, BUT MOTIVATION IS LACKING. AND IN THE NEWS: BIDEN MOCKS THE SECOND AMENDMENT, SAYS IT TAKES AN F-16 TO TAKE DOWN THE GOVERNMENT. BUT A .22 WILL TAKE DOWN A POLITICIAN AND THAT’S WHAT THE ANTI-GUNNERS FEAR. THE ON-GOING EFFORT TO DISARM THE PUBLIC WAS KICKED OFF, YOU MAY REMEMBER, BY THE ASSASSINATION OF POLITICIANS IN THE 69'S. THEY'RE SCARED OF YOU. THE SECOND AMENDMENT FUNCTIONS AS OUR ULTIMATE PROTECTION FROM MALEFACTORS IN BOTH GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE PRACTICE. BE CAREFUL WHO YOU VOTE FOR!

Hey guys, beautiful day here. Raining and and cool all day. Not a lot of rain but we'll take whatever we get.
HCF!!! whatever happened to that??? We need to bring that back. I had three hernia surgeries in 14 months....Tommy, only do it, if you have to. Oh, and mine is back, not going through that again unless I can't stand the pain. We actually got some done today. Even though I had to make a trip to the 'city' for tile for Father's house.

good afternoon, been a crazy day here, again and this time had some jackass sprinkled in with it. Did yesterday too in the form of a lady with 2 kids in MY lobby when she should be next door. (in spongebob: BuT tHeSe ChAiRs LoOk MoRe CoMfY (eyeroll) Loud AF and stank, couldn't even sit in here and work, then some old geezer came over here and literally cropdusted all over both offices and we couldn't get that smell out. I even sprayed the good stuff. Today, however, a man came up here to get go cart parts that I'm doing a wrap for. i went outside and he screamed his ass off at me, had me in tears, then he calmed down, we talked and it's all over his idiot entitled wife getting mad cause she thought I'd have a proof up there Friday when she brought her check. NO, I told her plainly I'd have invoice up there and that I do NO work until deposit paid. She went home and ranted over her own mistake and cause him to come up here and upset me. I hope he tears her a new one when he gets home after it all. I hate people this week.
Tommy, hope you get to the bottom of your issues and they take care of you . I also remember HCF and think I've contributed a time or two. I don't recall, however there ever being a HMF for my benefit haha

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Sowell I've read some his quotes in the past. Thought I'd look a little deeper. I have what I believe to be a inguinal hernia. Bothersome. Going to find a doc that accepts medicare plusI have a secondary insurance as well. Time to start my thorough physical analysis. I'm not feeling as well as I used to but as well as I'm going to feel unless I get some medical attention. I'm not a big fan of modern drug based medicine but sometime you have to do what you have to do.

Good afternoon, Tommy you posted the song that I heard in my head when I read his post. Earworm now.
Been busier than a one legged cat in a full litterbox today, and I'll be here Friday too since now I get to do some production work that I normally don't do since the owner will be gone and his install help will be covered up. Working on a kid's golf cart layout, they find crap online then ask can I copy it. Sure but not for $124 that you found it online for. More like 625. I have about 15 folders on my desk so far. Good problem to have I reckon. Have a termite dude coming at 8am, that'll be a fast 1600 he makes. We are changing companies, the old one didn't honor their policy and we had a termite swarm start and we ended up having to sue them. So, naturally they dropped us. Add that to the tax write off pile for me. There goes my vaca money.

got in some shoulder belts for the 56 yesterday in the correct color....will begin the install on friday..... putting on new belts also and fixing the somewhat haphazard wiring on the rear brakes...someone used the crimp on connectors instead of soldering and using shrink wrap.... can't have that on baby..... no no no.... don't drive thru Seward county wid lots of cash Guru's...

Morning guys... 72 now headed for upper 80s.
Didn't get much done in the shop yesterday as Father called and needed some things done in the rectory that had to do with the deluge we had last week resulting in flooding of the basement. We had Servicemaster in to do the cleanup and they found some mold in some sheetrock and removed it. We got to put new sheetrock up. Only 6 sheets, but it was patchwork, nt full sheets, so it took a while. A friend will be doing the finishing work today. Leo and I will be back in the shop today.

Gris, def reverse Midas day, and it's still continuing. Tried to sit down and rest and eat supper, dropped the same bite 3x, last time it landed in the floor. Im just done for tonight. If I get through this I"ll have a brownie and bourbon and call it a night.
Those small town little pecker cops are at it all the time around here. One town, Gilmore got shut down like that. Only a certain percentage of a city's revenue can come from traffic citations. They well exceeded it. And, it's also not against the law to flip them off. Back years ago we all took a trip and one of our crew flipped one off, pulled us over, and while they were hassling him, I called one of my editors at the paper. Next thing I know we're front page and all sorts of fit hit the shan. Tyronza here is another one. My ex used to work for them, those cops were widely known for pulling over 4 cars at a time. I remember the day he came home telling me he could now do that. I told him he better not tell anyone that he knows me. I can't stand small town crap like that.

HAD THIS CRAP GOING ON ON I-40 IN WESTERN OK A WHILE BACK. THEY GOT SLAPPED DOWN GOOD AND PROPER. LETTY, THAT'S CALLED THE REVERSE MIDIS TOUCH; EVERYTHING YOU DO TURNS TO CRAP. MARCUS, TROUBLE THANKS YOU FOR YOUR CONCERN AND SAYS HE IS WELL STOCKED WITH DINOSAUR BONES, HAS ABOUT A QUARTER OF A TYRANNOSAUR AT PRESENT :-) GOT BEHIND THE POWER CURVE THIS MORNING AND NEVER CAUGHT UP. IT'S CLOUDY, HUMID, AND 86 GOING FOR 92 AT 1148 HRS. SUMMER IN THE NATIONS. HERE'S SOME MORE MURPHY: In part, his Medal of Honor citation reads: "With the enemy tanks abreast of his position, 2d Lt. Murphy climbed on the burning tank destroyer, which was in danger of blowing up at any moment, and employed its .50 caliber machine gun against the enemy." It goes on, "He was alone and exposed to German fire from three sides, but his deadly fire killed dozens of Germans and caused their infantry attack to waver. The enemy tanks, losing infantry support, began to fall back." The citation continues, "For an hour the Germans tried every available weapon to eliminate 2d Lt. Murphy, but he continued to hold his position and wiped out a squad, which was trying to creep up unnoticed on his right flank." It adds, ""Germans reached as close as 10 yards, only to be mowed down by his fire. He received a leg wound, but ignored it and continued the single-handed fight until his ammunition was exhausted." After the war, Murphy was asked what had motivated him to take those heroic actions that day. He replied simply, "They were killing my friends." AND THAT'S WHY SOLDIERS FIGHT.

I read that article yesterday... They should be locked up. Civil forfeiture my ass, modern highway robbery. They will, at some point, pick on the wrong sucker and will get seriously burned. Worst part? The Nebraska State Supreme Court backed it up!!! Damn.
If you didn't read it, do so. It's coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs. As a side note, back in the 80s-90s, there was a stretch of interstate in Ohio that was seriously patrolled by a local PD. The Interstate ran through their town, but they didn't have any actual exits in their town, so they had to leave jurisdiction to get to their part of the Interstate. This was a small town that simply ran up huge traffic tickets. Always vague, things like weaving in lanes, no signal, tailgating, things like that. Well, they did this to an Ohio State Representative! That changed things. He got a serious fine, learned that this town of 1500 or so (don't remember the exact figure) had like 20 cops! All on the payroll created by these insane traffic violations. He had them shut down... basically, by changing the state law that restricted city police from patrolling the Interstates. And my fave government gone rogue, even better than Führer Ron Desantis, do a google search on Bellflower, CA. They got shut down about 10 years ago now... city admin were getting paid $300k+, based on all sorts of graft and corruption. It was horrid.

Nothing like sleeping in your own bed.
Civil forfeiture is a crime, I'll never see it as anything other than flat out robbery. Period. I would love to see them go bankrupt having to repay all that was taken from innocent folks plus millions extra for hardships suffered. Love the poem, Gris. Been a busy morning so far, walked into a blizzard of stuff. Got stung yesterday cleaning hummingbird feeders, at the end of the day while trying to relax. Pissed me smoooth off. I have been taking a daily hydrocortisone pill anyway so I think that offset the swelling, plus I applied wet cigarette and cream. It's not near as bad as it would have been. Then trying to get ready for work, made a nice iced coffee in a tumbler, set it on the counter, then it spilled all over my clean clothes, and my new Birkenstock shoes and all the front of the cabinets and floor. I literally screamed my head off. Feels like the whole universe hates me sometimes. In here working trying to concentrate and some uncivilized inconsiderate dudes getting helped next door, come over here in my lobby to sit being loud AF. Just had to get up and go outside for a while till they left. What's wrong with folks? Hoping for a better rest of the day.

I just had some thoughts to share on freedom. There sure are a lot of laws, regulations and rules in this Land of the Free. Fortunately within the confines of my fence, where I am the King, law enforcement, fire marshall, treasurer and a host of other administrators, I can enjoy the true freedoms this land has to offer. Special thanks to those that have defended her glory.

TODAY IS AUDIE MURPHY'S BIRTHDAY FREEDOM: Dusty old helmet, rusty old gun, They sit in the corner and wait - Two souvenirs of the Second World War That have withstood the time, and the hate. Mute witness to a time of much trouble. Where kill or be killed was the law - Were these implements used with high honor? What was the glory they saw? Many times I've wanted to ask them - And now that we're here all alone, Relics all three of a long ago war - Where has freedom gone? Freedom flies in your heart like an eagle. Let it soar with the winds high above Among the spirits of soldiers now sleeping, Guard it with care and with love. I salute my old friends in the corner, I agree with all they have said - And if the moment of truth comes tomorrow, I'll be free, or By God, I'll be dead! Audie Murphy (1925-1971)

Morning guys.... Slept good in my own bed last night. Cloudy, low 70s now, headed to low 90s. Now you know how we felt for the last two years, Marc. Thankfully, (hopefully) we have broken out of our drought spell. I saw in the paper last week, that we've had over 7" in June already. Going back to late May, we've had close to 15". Had a half inch in the gauges when we got home yesterday and the weather people are saying we have more chances through the next week. I'm not complaining, but some farmers are bellyaching they need to get into the fields...they are never happy.....

Good Morning CGs!
Man this month is flying by. Been keeping busy with work and the kids. Finally got a chance to tinker with the mustang. I got it up on the rack last night and got everything underneath disconnected with the transmission bell housing clutch and flywheel pulled off. I have to get a new bearing pressed on today for the input shaft I have to replace the rear main seal and the pilot bearing today and then maybe start putting stuff back together. Of course I found multiple problems with the previous install....no surprise. Hope everyone has a great day!
