I had the 3.42's in my 89 and loved'um. They will work very well with the power band of the LS1. The GTO for example has the same powertrain and sports the 3.42s. I have 3.42's in my SS right now, and if they didn't wine like a bitch I would love them too. This is the only site I've been on where the general consensus is to always go 3.07 or less.
