I have a much smaller 5 gallon fuel cell in my 84 (which is a drag car). It's mounted in stock location under the decklid with the fuel cap right under the factory fuel door.

The mounting system I used on mine would be similar to what you need to mount one of those 22 gallon RCI Cells.

Here are a pic of how my stuff is mounted.
